We’ve been teaching and performing the Omaha since relocating here in 2004. Combined we’ve instructed hundreds of students in Omaha from beginners to college students pursing a career in performing music professionally.

Meet Our Team
Jason Stromquist
Jason Stromquist was born into a musical family in Powell River, British Columbia. Initially taught by his father, the local band director, he enjoyed success in local and provincial competitions. In 1998, Jason moved to Hood River, Oregon, where he completed high school and began studying with Robert Taylor, Second Trombone of the Oregon Symphony. After two years at Portland State University, he moved to New York City to continue his studies with David Finlayson of the New York Philharmonic at the Aaron Copland School of Music.
After earning his Bachelor of Music in Performance in 2003, Jason began his professional career as Acting Second Trombonist of the Oregon Symphony in 2004. He joined the Omaha Symphony later that year and currently serves as Assistant Principal Trombone, a position he has held since 2025. Jason appeared as a soloist with the Omaha Symphony in 2022. In addition to his work with the orchestra, he remains an active freelance trombonist and private teacher.
Rebecca Stromquist
Rebecca has been teaching private piano and trumpet lessons in the Omaha area since 2005. As a student of Vincent Penzarella (New York Philharmonic, 2nd trumpet, ret.) Rebecca can help you with band, marching band, and soloistic playing. Rebecca’s focus on tone production and advanced technique have allowed her students to consistantly find success in auditions for All-State and college admissions. Rebecca has a love for teaching piano and can help students of all ages learn piano skills needed to succeed. In addition to Rebecca’s private lesson studio, she teaches 2nd grade in Omaha Public Schools.
